1970 Keaton Utility (KH7008) with 351 Ford

Thanks to Andy Glasgow for sharing this about "PT-109"

Finally finished my "functional" restore and here are some pictures as promised for the website.  The PT-109 was built in 1970 (KH7008) and fitted with a 1969 Ford 351 Windsor and Conqueror Crusader marine kit.  Grandpa Larry and Grandma Sandy, who live in Huntington Beach and summer at Lake Almanor, bought the boat in Costa Mesa, CA in about 1995.  After 15 summers on the lake, I felt the PT needed some TLC, so I brought it home last fall and spent this last winter working on it.  I had OC Boat Repair sand it to original and gel coat Navy Gray (as you can see, it has been metal-fleck bronze, yellow, light blue, and navy gray).  Rebuilt & reupholstered seats, recarpeted, retanked (designed a 25-gallon aluminum tank and had it fabricate by Speedy Tanks), dual batteries, new gauges and bezels, bow eye, front & rear nav lights, stereo, bilge, hide a cleats, shifter & cable, and custom swim step while trying to keep OEM look.  Also, major tune up and happy to find all cylinders showing 175 psi compression and clean plugs.  New distributor with E-ignition and seems to be running great.  Now, just hope it floats!!!
